Hello all and a specialist question |
|
Hi everyone.
I THINK I am about to buy my first LR, should be a D4 approx 2011. I suspect i will be on here quite a lot in the future
Does anyone know of a good specialist in the Bromsgrove/South Birmingham/North Warwickshire area they can recommend please?
Thanks

Welcome to the madhouse 8)
If you can stretch your budget to a 61 plate it will have the 8 speed gearbox.
Make sure you get fixed up with a decent warranty.
Have fun. MY12 D4 HSE Ipanema Sand

Thanks!
I was reading the forum and I am edging towards a Warranty Direct warranty....is that the best bet?

When the 3 year LR warranty came to an end I did the same as you and waded through the Finance, Insurance & Warranties section and because the car is a keeper I went for a 3 year "Luxury Care" deal with Warranty Direct for £1900. I don't believe they do a Luxury care package anymore, but I will do my research before the current deal ends in November.
I've never had to make a claim, but for me it's peace of mind - I couldn't afford to shell out for a new engine if the crankshaft went petong.
My son's got a D3 and he's made loads of claims on Warranty Direct and must be a couple of thousand quid up.
You need to negotiate hard with Warranty Direct to get the best deal - don't take their first figure, just say you'll think about it and wait for them to come back. MY12 D4 HSE Ipanema Sand

I've used WD for a couple of years - they've been very good. Worth getting the betterment clause removed so that you don't pay a contribution for any wear and tear.
BUT - if you're getting from an LR dealer, you'll get a two year warranty with the car. 2014 - D4 2010 HSE Nara Bronze

APB Trading on Hartlebury Trading Estate have a good reputation, although I have never used them my old boss did, and he thought they were very good.
I have used Egdon 4x4 near near Pershore and they were an absolute shambles, it was only to fit tow wiring electrics, and it became a farce. I am not the only one I know who has had a questionable experience with them. 2012 - 8 Speed D4 HSE in Indus Silver with surround cameras, adaptive headlamps, privacy glass, rear entertainment, 20" alloys.
