Goodbye Land Rover Insurance ..hello APlan
So LRI added £400 to my renewal and refused to budge ...well after 14 years of loyalty ... you LRI
On a brighter note well done to APlan for sorting out a decent policy, a reasonable price and great customer service. 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

also went with A plan , found there customer service second to none
alas loyalty in sticking with the same company doesn't seem to make any difference these days
A plan were also the most competitive in price

Well ....they have been relatively competitive in the past and last year I paid LRI £525 ....this year they wanted £920 and I was told that "someone has to pay for the increased claims of others" ...I said ...jog on ...they said ok 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

DG
that's outrageous but doesn't surprise me in the least , loyalty means nothing these days
when i went from my freelander to the D3 i was getting quotes of over £1,500
A plan done it for just under £500 , inc breakdown cover, protected ncb
also liked there telephone manner, searching for a good broker that was competitive

As a family we have been with APlan for years. That have always been competitive but not always the cheapest, However, the cover has always been good and you get to deal with a human being. More importantly, when you have a claim they have always been good. New Defender L663 110 SE (known as Noddy!)
Sold Volvo XC90 R-Design (known as Basil)
Sold - D4 HSE (Known as Gerty)
No longer the Old Buses original owner
231,000 miles and counting
05 S manual owned from March 2005
D4 Face lifted
Still original injectors and turbo
V8 Front brakes
BAS Remap, Allisport Intercooler and deCat
EGRs blanked
T-Max split charge
Hanibal Expeedition rack
Prospeed ladder
Duratrac tyres
IID BT
BAS FBH control

But its True someone has to pay they are not charities they are a business
Reading this and many other topics that say claim for this claim for that its inevitable that policies are on the rise
If the blame and claim culture stays then premiums go up

I was anticipating a rise of between £50 and £100 but £400 is obviously taking the ...APlan managed to find me adequate cover for £525 which is around what I paid last year.21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Getting insurance gets my back up. Was with a big name for 4 years, then last year they did the same and jacked up my premiums considerably and wouldn't budge.
Doing the annual insurance jig, I asked why being a loyal member and with 10yrs+ NCB it went up so much and was advised " as I haven't had a accident in such a long time its likely I will this year!"
Went elsewhere considerably cheaper.Last of the D4 HSE...

You're not saying the premium was high coz they classed you as a young driver?
Ditched LR Ins a few years ago (they couldn't tell their ar$e from their elbow) & went to NFU, never looked back. £850 a year for cover on both the Ds.
