Fault Codes P006A & P00BE |
|
Hello All,
About a week ago whilst driving my 2013 discovery 4 SDV6 with 72k miles, I got my first dreaded Restricted Performance message at around 50mph. I took the car home and parked it up then ran a scan with my OBDII tool and got the codes P006A & P00BE. These relate to MAP correlation and MAF (B) low input. Has anyone else came across these two codes?
I have changed the MAF but to no avail. One other point to mention is that my wife ran the car quite low on fuel to the point where the engine had a sort of hiccup on idle, but after a trip to the petrol station for a Can full of diesel this went away.
I have been reading some horror stories about cracked inlet manifolds etc. but haven't came across any posts from people who have had both of these fault codes together. If anyone can point me in the right direction on what to check/clean/test/inspect etc.
I am quite technical minded and will always try to fix myself before going to the Dealers with any issues with my vehicles
Thanks in advance for any comments

P006A = Manifold absolute pressure – mass or volume air flow correlation
P00BE = Mass or volume air flow B circuit range/performance – Air flow too low Mods:

Thanks for that info, do you have any suggestions on what to check next.
I changed the MAF that is closest the windscreen as the other one seemed to look like it had been replaced before as it was really clean.
Checked the MAP sensor that looked a little oily but not clogged up.
Checked the driver side inlet manifold and all seems ok.
Car idles fine and when I have reset the fault codes they come straight back on within seconds of starting the engine.

It seems that although the fault code was registering MAF (b) as the source, I decided to swap my new MAF over to (a) after reading another post in which they mention that there can be confusion in the ECU as to witch MAF is which and a fault on one can show up as a fault on the other.
Anyone who in future comes across a P00BE fault code should try switching MAF's over to see if the ECU is throwing up a dummy
