I've recently bought a new ifor Williams 16ft flat (triaxle) trailer. LM166
It tows horrible, wagging all over whether it be loaded, empty, nose heavy tail heavy or over the axles. . As soon as i hit 45-50 that's it, like a white knuckle ride wondering where it'll put me.
Needless to say it's been back to the dealer.
What height should my ball be, i have the HD lr multiheight fit so have tried both lower and upper settings, none seems better.
The dealer has suggested it needs to be higher when hitched as the car lowers once it sets off to a ride height?! Not sure in this?
Any help appreciated .
It towed my ge 16' tri fine in the lower setting before i (up) graded D3 gone

What is the load rating of the tyres on the back of your Disco. Had similar issues when i first got a D3 and it had 107 load rating they should be 111, got 11 load rated tyres fitted and was like a diffrent car. MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

What does Ifor Williams handbook say the hitch height be ? I towed my twin axle 3.5t IW never any issues as long as my tyre pressures correct. ie max fully loaded pressures.

It's the comment about the disco lowering when it starts moving/in drive I'm confused over as they're saying that the hitch height when static is higher than when driving? D3 gone

My Ifor Williams LM146 tows really well, I use the hitch at 450mm I think(the higher of the two without using the extender plate) and it is pretty level. The suspension will not alter once you set off assuming that it is set at normal height to start with. Not used a tri-axle but I would have thought it would be rock steady. Stu

Worth checking is the pressure of the Disco's rear tyres and also the health of the suspension bushings; towing benefits from as laterally stiff a vehicle rear end as possible. Run at least the rears as high a pressure as possible [42 psi ?]
If that does not help then I would chat to a fellow owner to organise towing with that to see if their Disco handles your IFW trailer with any better grace.
With the D3 I towed a twin axle IFW trailer and it behaved impeccably loaded or not. Those days with the detachable hook.

And the final annoyance......Paid for led lights and the d4 doesn't recognise them, turn signal speed is correct just doesn't have the in dash flash, nor does it isolate rear parks sensors/fog when connected. Using 13pin genuine lr (LR fitted) tow socket
Anyone had any solutions to this does it have other effects known? D3 gone

Hit the search button, a few threads regarding LED lights, especially for the tintent towers, me included, stand corrected but the LED lights do not draw enough power for the towing electrics to recognise you towing, I had a special box fitted in the Tintent from Sargent, VLM4.
https://sargentltd.co.uk/shop/product/led-...l-unit/240
Go into the camera settings on the Sat Nav screen, there is a setting for the rear sensors when towing.
