Air tank resevoir repair

We'll happy with myself today. I was getting suspension fault every once and a while even after a new compressor install. Turns out there was a major leak in the air reservoir tank. The small pin holes do not represent what was behind it. It was about 5mm wide X 25 mm long fully plated and tested. Give a shout if any1 needs this done

For the sake of £100, I'd not take my chances and just fit a new one Wink

Well worth spraying the ends of the tank with aerosol chain grease stops rust dead.

A few years ago I decided to treat my air tank to Dinitrol. It seemed on place where protection would pay dividends.

Air tank removal

Hi there.

My air tank is leaking so I need to remove it. Where is the best place to bleed down the air in the tank from?

Also is there any valves above the air tank or is there just air in and air out hoses?

Thanks

ken........

I just loosened a union and waited, at work I just dump the drain bung but that can be slightly dodgy as the volumes are a lot more,

The Haynes manual says only to remove one pipe and I cant find a picture on the web that shows both ends of the tank.

Im wondering if the air goes in and comes out of the tank from the one single pipe?

Cheers

could have cursed that small bracket at the end of the tank, installed a new air tank, then realising the pins weren't located correctly , so had to take it back out, bend the pins slightly and reinstall it, was fun trying to hold one end up with my foot, threading the airline through then getting a bolt in the other end

made sure i bought new bolts, used coppaslip on the threads, fun part was getting the old bolts out, had just bought some irwin sockets and were a lifesaver

agree, i just bought a new one, wasnt worth messing around with, seeing there must be rust particles loose inside the tank and would be worried of them getting into the system
