D5 Configuration

I am not due a vehicle change until March next year so by that time all the problems, if there are any, will have been sorted so I will be looking at the new D5.
However, I have never used more than four seats in any of my Discoveries, the third row gets dropped and sheeted over the minute I take collection of my new vehicles.
So I was wondering if there is the option of ordering the new D5 without the third row of seats, a five seat version.
It doesn't give the option in the Land Rover configuration drop down menu on the Land Rover web site.
Does anybody know or has heard of such an option ?

America gets an option for a 5 seat D5. I believe the UK has only the 7 seat configuration.

Unless you are fixed on a D5 have a look at the Velar, should be available from Sept.

Not fixed on anything at the moment, just in the habit of changing Disco's every three years and now there aren't any more 'proper Diso's' was wondering what to change to.
The Velar looks like an Evoque to me but if it comes with a five seat configuration then it would be a better option than the D5
I would like to stay with the L/R marque but if I can't find anything high enough for me to get in and out of, then it may be a complete change of brand - Jeep or Jap ?

Why not look at a RRS?

I have had 2 RRS1's but think the boot has shrunk on the RRS2 too much and have switched to the D5.
( now sounding like a D4 owner! )

It is probably a better bet than a Velar if 5 seats are OK.

Struggling to understand why you can't do in the D5 what you say you do in the D4 and fold the seats down and sheet over them.

Confused

JMack don't understand what you are struggling to understand, quite simple really.
I put the seats down now and sheet them over but why if there is a five seat version available - that is what I am trying to find out.
The D5 isn't as high as the D4 and the boot is a lot smaller so not likely to get many Fallow Bucks or Red Stags in.
The height is important to me for getting in and out of the vehicle as am I am not as fit as most people my age 70+

PeterSW,
I went to an open day for the D5.
Jump in, start engine, operate compressor, raise vehicle, ideal for off road or rough terrain.
Not ideal to keep it in the raised position all the time I wouldn't think Wink
