Tyres for predominatly road use
So the 61-plate is due for lower front arms and probably at least two new tyres. Currently wearing Grabber ATs that came from the dealer when we bought it.
Live in Edinburgh, occasionally do longer road runs to see family. No real need for off-road.
What would people suggest for a set of boots?Dr Rick

For road use i find the standard issue Pirelli Scorpion Zeros perfectly good for the job. And having done the Land Rover Experience at Eastnor recently on a car fitted with them, i'd say they're pretty good if you do venture off road D4 GS 12MY

I have had Goodyear Wrangler HP on my Disco2 for 10 years and fitted them to my Disco3 last year.
Great tyre on road and good off road as well.

All good. But like I said this is (to be honest) a soft roader in usage terms.
I was wondering about the Scorpion Verde as an alternative.Dr Rick

Mine came fitted with General Grabber ATs and I found them very noisy and didn't feel they were doing my fuel economy any favours, so changed them for Michelin Latitude Tour (19") and I have been really pleased with them, very quiet and an improvement in mpg as well, also the handling seemed improved.
They were more expensive compared to other options, but I would definitely buy them again and they are wearing very well too.Andy

GGat3 for all round use, not chunky and no noticeable noise. But winter rated is always a bonus
See AJS site sponsor for them, good prices too D3 57 xs Stornaway grey
D2 02 commercial silver gone but a great servant and won't be forgotten

I've got through a lot of Pirelli Scorpions and they are a brilliant compromise for a Disco; surprisingly capable off road, quiet, fair wet weather grip and (while certainly not the cheapest) reasonable VFM
If I didn't care about off road capability, I'd be looking at Avon ZX7's (currently at £123.23 per corner for 255/50 R20 109Y's)

Scorpion Zeros for me. Can't fault them. I do have a set of Vredestein wintracs on a set of rims for winter as well. The Zeros seem to be what the Highways Agency use on their Discos.D1 300Tdi - gone
D2 Td5 ES (Alive remapped...mmm) - sadly gone
D4 2012 SDV6 XS - Stolen
D4 2014 SDV6 HSE - Shiny
