Right where do I start.

I have a friend who has recently bought a 319, 3ltr turbo diesel, after a few days the battery check light comes on and will not start. A battery charge later and away it goes. It's gone back to the dealers where he has bought it from and they have said the battery and alternator are both ok. They are unwilling to so anything further with the car.

I've checked the current and its around 12.6v when the engine is off and when on its the same, when revved to about 2k revs it stays around 14.4v, battery and alternator seem to be fine.

I've then checked for battery drain and low and behold, its fairly high, 1.7-1.8 amps, after checking all fuses and none are blown, its come down to the following fuses that are located under the glovebox:

F17 - Keyless entry/start, central door locking
F30 - Front passenger window, central door locking
F32 - Driver's window, exterior mirrors, central door locking

Once these are pulled, the ampage drops dramatically and once pulled together drops to a normal load.

The only common denomenator that I can think of is central locking, but does anyone know where the best place to start would be??

Apart from taking it back to the dealers with this information which is what is going to happen, can anyone please help us out?

Many thanks in advance and sorry for the long post as I don't want to leave anything out that I have done.

Has a Tracker device or similar been tagged onto any of these fuses?
A vaccine does not stop you catching a virus, or passing it on, or getting ill from it, really ill. It does reduce the likelyhood of you dying when really, really ill. Stay Alive - KEEP AWAY FROM PEOPLE.
