Intermittently cranking but won't start ?
Hi All
Have a fault on my D4 I haven't experienced it but SWMBO has on numerous times !
Go to car in a morning and it will crank over but not fire , it will start after a couple of goes after you switch on and off !
I have read the codes and it comes up with P2264-00 28
I have also checked the charging system and it is only kicking out 12.9 volts and nothing higher I have checked the battery and it is ok just needs a charge which I end up trickle charging with the CTEK every couple of days.
I have the car booked in next tues to have the alternator checked but can the fault code I have read be connected to the not starting issue ?
Thanks in advance

I'm not an expert by any means but a quick search says: P2264 is an OBD-II generic code for the engine control module (ECM) detecting the water in fuel sensor circuit voltage falling below or exceeding the specified limits.
Might actually be water in the fuel or the sensor itself, but someone more knowledgeable will be along shortly I'm sure...Discovery 4 Landmark ‘16

Yes I've seen that myself but I don't get a water in fuel sign on dash !
And the cranking and not even to try to fire is confusing .
I also get P060B-00 (28MY18 D5 HSE LUX😎

That error code looks to be a generic Check Engine code according to the BAS site and likely connected to the Water in Fuel error. No idea if it is related to the non-starting unless you really do have water in the fuel...? Be worth getting it looked at when it is in as there is a drain on the filter that would show if there is any excessive amount of water. Alternatively there are threads on here that show a sensor problem or fuel filter housing problem gives this error --> http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic154386....er+in+fuelDiscovery 4 Landmark ‘16

Tried it first thing started first click I then checked the charging system nothing coming out !!
I left it for 10 mins and then tried it again nothing wouldn't start but kept cranking so read the codes and came up with this !
Eventually after 5 or 6 attempts it fires and then checked the charging system again and its kicking out 14.5 volts
So it has a fuel pump problem ? If so which one is it
, has any one else had these symptoms ?
Thanks inadvance SharksMY18 D5 HSE LUX😎

Has it ever cut-out when running? Cranking but not firing is a possible symptom of failing Crankshaft Sensor but usually only on warm engine and occasional cut-outs when running.
