D3 a bit of an eye opener in the snow
We were doing a bit of snow chasing at the weekend and went to Postbridge on Dartmoor as heavy snow had been forecast ,well it did snow and did my D3's performance open my eyes . The HDC and command shift really do sort things out for you and whilst never being overconfident you do feel that the vehicle that you are driving is the best in the business ,in fact Mrs MZ even suggested a D4 perhaps

It's why when peeps want snow I think "careful what you wish for!"
It's most deffo not fun. You're constantly out digging the drive. You can't drive off before clearing as where you drive turns to black ice. It's pretty falling and good fun if you can get out before the snow ploughs & snow blowers (they use that on the road north out of Grantown and the high ski road) but apart from that it's a complete PITA. The locals up in Grantoon love mild winters and the standard greeting is "Nice and mild today", answered with "and may it continue til summer".
And not even much good for the skiers as the roads are blocked and can take days to clear plus they have to move tonnes and tonnes and tonnes of snow out of the Cairngorm mountain train "station" at the top because it's in a hollow that just fills with blown snow. Said clearing is done by snow shovel and manpower!!
PS And the Jazz isn't keen on it either but she just backed out of this after just clearing the windows. The wonders of proper winter tyres on a front wheel drive car. And a bit of welly.

Reported today that middle aged men are most likely to have a heart attack in the winter, not middle aged women!
The reason.......they're out clearing snow and the unusual exertion can cause a heart attack!!
