Break lit for switching sensor the saga continues

Hi all had the usual suspension lowering hdc fault when breaking a garage fit the new break last gut switch all was good under normal breaking, just had the car in for parking break sorting and asked about switch they said that it isn't set correctly they said they had sorted it but when driving home again when you very very slightly touch it it brings fault up, if you change the driving style and break form all is good, at the end of my teacher does anyone know the correct procedure on changing this? Do you press the break? Garage have advised that there is a possibility of the new switch been damaged due to it not being correctly fit the first time round?

Changing the break light switch seems very straight forward but my mechanic mentioned that when you are installing a brand new switch, pull the brake pedal after fitting it in (opposite of pushing it in with your foot) in order to activate it.

Seemed odd to me although pulling the pedal pushes the spring on the switch all the way in and this could be the trick to activate it properly..
