Rotary knob clicking sound in P when depressing brake
Is this norm or something is loose pls?
When in P with rotary knob and hand on the knob it feels like parts are moving beneath when pressing on brake

Pressing the brake allows the selector to move, mine does it although its not that loud it can be felt more. I think its just a solenoid clicking in and out. I think its just a fail safe to stop car moving by a passenger turning it to R or D. My work XC60 is a lot louder. I personally think its nothing to worry about MY2023 Discovery 5 R-Dynamic 3.0

that does the same in my d3
believe that's the sensor that stops the car being started in gear
u rest u hand on the gear stick, as u press the brake can feel a click through the gearstick
unless there's something different

Its the park interlock solenoid you can hear, its there to stop the selector being moved out of park if you do not have your foot on the brake.
