Electronic parking brake use
Hi guys,
What is the correct way to use the electronic parking brake on an auto disco 3? do you have to take it off or will it come off automatically when you pull away from stop and does the brake act as hill hold? Thanks
I tent to manually release it unless im towing away from an uphill start then let it do it automaticlyRange Rover Westminster 4.4 TDV8 what a car

Then it has been activated later it is definitely not activated as standard By LR they wouldn't even do it when I asked it requires an IID Tool to activate cant even be activated by a local LR Specialist as they only run official LR software and it wont let them activate it

Ref your D3 Auto. I am not fully understand your question about Hill Hold.. If the park brake is on it will of course hold on a hill. When you need to move off all you need to do is open the throttle and the brake will automatically release as you pull away . If you close the throttle until the engine is not pulling enough it will roll backwards , until you manually apply the brake.

As stated this is not the case on a manual id will not release automatically as standard Requires IID Tool
I Think that depends on the year as i read somewhere on here auto release was introduced on manuals 07 onward, but someone with more knowledge than me will be along to settle that one, not an issue for the OP as his is an auto Range Rover Westminster 4.4 TDV8 what a car

Manual only-
From 07 onwards, the handbrake will automatically release. Pre 07, you can get it to automatically release but you need an iid tool to enable it.
