Just get them from a reputable place like advanced factors,
Buy cheap ones and you'll need another set soon.
Only downside of the black ones ( no matter from where ) the paint starts flaking off after they've been removed a couple of times D3 57 xs Stornaway grey
D2 02 commercial silver gone but a great servant and won't be forgotten

My D3 has solid black wheel nuts and when I replaced the locking nuts I could only get nuts with covers on them which have now swollen
Any idea where I can get the solid nuts from?

My new set of Stainless one arrived this morning from my local supplier JGS4X4, Allmakes parts, made in India.
Now all I have to do is get the old swollen ones off and fit the new shiny ones. The few good ones on at the moment (can get a 22mm socket on) will go in the spares box.

Your best option is probably a LR dealer.
Are you sure it's not stashed somewhere in the car?

Last year while at the tire shop getting new boots put on I was informed my nuts were swollen and was offered replacements that were solid piece (no caps). I looked at them and they were identical. When I asked how much they were the girl said they were on sale for $2.00 USD each (Regularly $3.00 USD each). I just about fell out of my chair and said "I'll take 25 of them please!". So, for $50 USD I got a complete set including spares.
I swap between my off-road wheels and street wheels multiple times each year and have not had a single issue with these lug nuts. Only thing I didn't like was they were chrome, but they look good with my alloys and even in our salted winter climate they're not rusting and they hold their torque which I check often.
I bought my nuts from a large chain store called Discount Tire and have since seen something similar here on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ZQ7XNJW?tag=viglink23049-20 (Note: I saved this seller in my shopping list back in July 2016 and at that time the listing was for a full set 20 lug nuts for maybe $100 USD, now they are trying to sell 1 lug nut for $10 USD. Somebody wised up to the fact that LR people pay top $$ for these things so shop around, they exist)
Highly recommend the SOLID lug nuts, stop wasting money on nuts that will inevitably be swollen 12 months from now. 1998 Discovery LSE - Gold, 249,000+ miles, completely stock

AF supplied me a set of Wheel nuts about two years ago. I have just had to swap the whole lot again. Since learning to drive, I have had about 35 cars and have never purchased a single wheel nut until I bought my Discovery.
OEM, or OEM style nuts are designed to fail in my opinion. The electrolytic action caused by two dissimilar metals in a nice moist environment means that corrosion is inevitable. This is exacerbated by enthusiastic use of electric or pneumatic impact wrenches, the result of which is distortion of the chromed cap, leaving small voids around the nut itself where moisture can linger to accelerate the deterioration.
My thoughts for the future are to use stainless steel nuts. There are two rules for success,
1. Never tell everything you know.

The nut covers are also loosened by the air tools used by tyre places. Having said that I replaced all of mine and one of the covers was slightly loose after I used my hand tools - no air / impact tools used.
The design is just rubbish. Visiting from rrsport.co.uk
