Patience my young padouine, patience. Pat will be sprinkling some fairy dust on the server as we speak and will have everything tickety-boo ASAP. Then you can dive in.
Just remember my top tip when the IID is editing the CCF - close your eyes!

Just reading the manual now so I can work out how to back up the ccf first, when I had it plugged into the car it downloaded loads of files but I'm not sure that was the process for backing up the ccf Cheers Ian

Just in case anybody else is wondering about this, from page 141 of the manual
GAP Manual wrote:
4.10.3 Configurations backup
When connected for the first time, the IIDTool made a backup of the configuration file (CCF) L322-02
and L322-06 and a backup of configurations stored inside the BPM (Body Processor) and LCM (light
control). L322-02 and L322-06 If the initial backup of one ECU failed, it will not be present in the list.
This will not affect the other ECUs whose configurations were successfully saved. Pro : The backups
are made when entering the Car Configuration File menu.
Thanks for the help Cheers Ian

It sounds like the main advantage over the system you are using is Car Configuration File (CCF) editing, where you can change the settings of the car to add items that weren't there from new. EG with mine I have just added the remote park heating, it needs a receiver and aerial fitting and then you have to 'tell the car' that you have fitted it and this is where the IID tool comes in. Cheers Ian

Not sure about the Bluepoint unit but you can compare its specs with the IIDTool ones. I would assume the differences will be in the advanced programming functions:
Full diagnostic capabilities (free of charge on any supported vehicles for the IIDTool BT)
• Fault read / clear
• Live values
• Control outputs
• Service / test functions (this includes service interval reset)
Advanced programming functions (IIDTool BT: one free VIN, additional licence available at 60 GBP):
• Suspension height modification
• ECU Flash
• Car Configuration File editing
• Component and system calibration (steering angle sensor calibration etc)
• Advanced functions including backup / restore, save profiles – vehicle system settings and
configurations are read and stored as a backup file for a restore function, various changes
to systems (e.g. suspension height) can be stored and changed quicklyhttp://www.gap-diagnostic.com/
