Oil & fuel flush?

Booking in for a service - on a pre-paid service plan - and dealer says that LR are now recommending that they also do an engine & fuel flush (costing £35) before the service.
Any views as to benefits of this?, will it help fuel economy or lengthen engine life?, or is it just a money-making sales add on? - this will be its 5 year service & I don't recall being offered this before! Shocked

It's all money making.

If you want it done, buy a £5 bottle of engine flush and tip it in to the engine when dropping the car off
Same with a bottle of Redex or similar Thumbs Up

Ask, exactly how they flush the fuel system and can you see an example as to how this is done - suspect nothing more than 80ml of Millers or something similar - costs less than a quid

Yes, I'd turned it down on the phone, as I assumed there was a fuel filter that gets cleaned as part of the service, and there is obviously an oil filter & I thought some form of centrifugal separator that again is surely cleaned/replaced anyway? Shocked

Disco Mikey - do you recommend use of engine flush/Redex?, or just keep it serviced per the standard schedule?
