Slight flicker in lights and clocks |
|
I have been trying to find the source of an issue with the instrument cluster this weekend, they can be fine for days or they will keep switching off and on when your driving along sometimes they will go off and then come straight back on or they go off and stay off and come on 20 minutes later.
I noticed they flicker back to life as though there is a connection issue. Whilst I had the clocks out to check for water damage I noticed the interior lights have a flicker to them as does the LCD screen on the dash.
Not really sure where to go from here. The back of the clocks were fine, no sign of water or any loose connections.

i noticed this a little while ago
the instrument display had a very slight flicker in it
removed the battery terminals, cleaned them up and the battery and so far so good
don't know if that's the same issue but just wished to share

no worries
hope it resolves the issues
used some emery paper strips , cleaned all inside the terminals and battery posts
surprising how much junk there was on there
forgot to mention , i found one of the bolts, the thread on one terminal had been slightly stripped , so when i done it up the terminal still moved
so bought a new bolt which resolved it
trying to remember the grease i also used, was for putting onto battery terminals
