Could do with some advice - P0089 |
|
So, in the past 6 months or so, the D3 has had, in no particular order, and amongst other things, a new LPFP, HPFP and turbo. This has cured the voracious oil appetite and the Christmas tree shutdowns however, when I read the codes I'm regularly getting a P0089 - fuel pressure regulator maximum amplitude, limit exceeded.
The car has just ticked over 170,000 and the injectors are all at or about 950 - 1050.
I'm assuming that, apart from the fuel injectors, the last thing that needs replacing in the fuel circuit is the pressure regulator on the injector rail. Can anyone tell me if they've had this issue or whether there are any opinions on whether this is worth dealing with since the car is otherwise normal (apart from perhaps slightly poorer performance/ higher mpg)? -------------------------------------------------------------------

OK, thanks Mikey. The HPFP is a new VDO unit so I'd like to think it's OK, is there any way to diagnose the pressure sensor with an IIDTool? Or should I just bite the bullet and change it? -------------------------------------------------------------------
