Rear passenger driver side door lock

Ok

Just started having issues with the rear passenger door lock on the D3 it's started being very intermittent Sometimes it may lock other times it won't. Keep pressing the lock button and then it goes weird and the horn beeps at me once when I try to press it closed. Have to put key in ignition and then reclick it to reset it and stop it from beeping. It seems to work more when I double press the lock button but I have no idea what it needs. Is it a replacement lock or can I do something else. Has anyone else had this

Stu

Any ideas appreciated

If it moves and it shouldn't duct tape it, if it doesn't move and it should walk away and get a big hammer

I've done a search but seems to be an issue with getting the door open , not locking

Sounds like the actuator is failing or isn't making proper contact on the micro switch...

Double pressing the lock button on the remote disables the interior 'microwave' sensor and is possibly making you believe it is secure but that rear door is still unlocked.

Once I've pressed it twice I check all doors and as I say sometimes they are all locked and sometimes it's not it's intermittent.

So what do you reckon I should replace

I'd replace the actuator for the door that isn't locking.

I had similar with my drivers door last year.

I have a (maybe) related issue...

Open car with fob. All doors open apart from rear nearside. Also noticed it sometimes appears locked from inside (child lock red tab thing definitively not on).

weird!

If you unlock from inside does it always lock when pressing the remote?

I'd suspect another dodgy actuator.

I've not done a rear door, but the front wasn't too bad, a bit awkward and some scraped knuckles involved getting your hands into the door cavity etc.

Do a search on here for rear door actuator replacement or similar, should find some threads about it.
Thumbs Up

Rear passenger door will not lock! Locks internally but as soon as your open the outter handle it unlocks and the central locking doesn’t affect it. Anyone have any experience? Thought I’d replace the actuator but wondered if this would correct the problem or not
