Unusual powerloss at startup (sometimes!)

Evening all, bit of an odd one here and I was hoping that with all our shared heartache someone, somewhere will have had the same issue.
Here it is...On cold startup, only sometimes, I get a loss of power below 2000 rpm.
I have no fault codes and when I had the reader hooked up I was showing absolutely nothing wrong.
Manifold pressure good and above ambient.
Fuel pressure good.
No water present in the fuel(computer says this..I am not so sure)
Egr value at the correct setting and respond to the throttle position.
The throttle position sensor 1 working, sensor 2 showing a little different reading.
All the injectors are at the roughly same pressure.
Electrical system showing 14.2 volts at the charge and battery showing 12+ volts
Gearbox is showing impeller pressure and is selecting fine.
At this point I am at a loss... No smoke from the exhaust so I am ruling out turbo fail..I also have pressure thouout the interagation.
My only thoughts are a bad tank of fuel..Maybe extra additive to stop the freeze? Or even water in the fuel..I still have half a tank so really don't want to drain it.
Any help guys??

How do you experience it ? I sometimes start the car, put it in "D" and nothing happens, even when I rev the engine up... After 10-20secs it still slips a lot, then it gradually gets better. After about 30-50secs power is back and throttle response is normal. This started some years ago, when the car had been standing around for a week or more. It seems the transmission fluid runs out of the torque converter as some valve does not close properly. So when started again, fluid has to fill the system first, resulting in complete loss of coupling to the traction... After a big-flush of the transmission, it was gone for about a year. Now it slowly returns. Is this waht you mean to say ?

Why? Its nothing mechanical or broken. Once the TC is filled again POWERRRRRrrr is back on Mr. Green

BUt I do strongly advise you to give your autobox a "big flush". I guess some of the sponsors provide this service. Just search " big flush " and you'll get plenty of threads on the subject Rolling with laughter

Thinking about it, I am due a gearbox service this year,10 yrs and counting but only 50000 miles on the old girl.
It could be the problem but it just feels like it's in a limp home mode. I did a check on the gearbox with the diagnostic and it was showing no fault code and the torque setting was pretty good

Best option ; get the big flush done properly. Did you ever change fluid in the autobox ? This should be done every 5 years or so .... Do not wait. Just search the subject and read what can happen if you do not flush..
