Replacement leather interior for my GS
On looking around for a perfect, low mileage, one owner Discovery in the right colour but most importantly the right price found me a 2011 Bali Blue GS. It had numerous extras, in fact it had it all but a leather interior. Too late my wife and I were now test driving it and loved it. We bought it but I was never quite happy as it looked drab when you opened the doors.
On checking this site and others for reputable companies that would re trim our vehicle I came across Seat Surgeons in York numerous times.
After a couple of calls throwing ideas back and forth we went with standard black leather with blue stitching to match the exterior and the front seats with heated elements too.
Deposit made and a couple of weeks later we found ourselves in York.
Paul Hewit, the owner drove us into York City centre while his team started removing cloth, drab, drab cloth.
Mid afternoon we got a call to say it was ready and we were asked what time we wanted to be collected.
Straight away obviously despite having a lovely day in beautiful York.
As soon as we got back, any apprehension about the finished result was lost as soon as I saw the seats. Nothing I can say here or the attached photographs do the seats justice, the style, comfort, workmanship and overall WOW factor cannot be covered enough.
There are lots of affordable GS models out there and as the dash and door cards already look great, there are only the seats to recover (although Paul also covered the centre arm rest within the price).
Pure luxury, HSE vehicle for entry level price.
Many thanks indeed to Paul and his team at Seat Surgeons. Explemplary customer care too made this a very pleasurable experience.

Hi, thanks for that, took some time (for a technophobe) but the photos are now in the gallery.
Although the photographs are ok, they simply do no justice to the overall look and feel of the vehicle.
Also to add, as I know the question will be asked - £1380 and there other cost options higher and lower than this. Coming from someone as tight as me.......well worth the investment!

I did not do the rear seats as I very rarely use them. Having used them for the first time in ages yesterday I now wish I had as it would not have been much more.
As mentioned earlier I'm a bit tight!!!!

Have they used genuine switches and looms for the heaters or an aftermarket setup?

Nice job quite a few GSes seem to have been specced with leather as an extra which like you say makes them a good value buy, although you do miss out on LRs excellent satnav D4 GS 12MY

I suspect that it would an aftermarket set up but they bring in an auto electrician to carry that part of the job out. That said the switches are very neat and your hand falls perfectly to their location.

Thanks for sharing. Have always thought my 2012 GS is a great car but I wish it had leather. This looks like a great option and i will check it out.

Looking at the pics James , aftermarket, the switches are on the seat trim
It can be easily done with LR parts though, I did
Have to say they did a nice job of the trim, I have thought about using them fir my middle row, I dropped on OEM front seats Altox GSM FBH controller thread

I've come across these people before and never heard a bad word. I've never seen them do a replica of the original HSE interior before though and it looks great It looks like they've even used leather where the standard car has vinyl as well.
