The proportions on the DS work better. Looking at the D5 it looks like a photoshopped DS, side on in photos the back quarter really doesn't work very welll. Goes to show colour choice will be key as in that colour it looks awful. I think it may also just be a car that works better in the flesh and photos maybe just don't do it justice.

Pirelli tyres - softer compound, were lasting me about 20k miles. Like you, I change at roughly 4mm.

The pads and discs lasted short of 3 years. They did the handbrake ones at the same time as they had the wheels off.

Dubbs, the guy on the DS forum said it was his DS that he parked and took the dog for a walk and when he came back .....

I've just driven past 6 in a row, top of A34 near M40, drove down country lanes to an old Air Force base. Shocked

They looked pretty imposing on the road and I'm in a RRS. Not mine it's works. From the front it works for me, I span round and chased them and it looks pretty big from the back, not sure I like the off set number plate tho? Didn't get a side view but from that attached picture above they are very similar.

A bit Ford Explorer ish, not sure on Santa Fe but I do like the look of some of those Kia's

Curious about it eating tyres. I get about 40-45,000 miles out of each set and I change them at 4mm. I've also found that they wear very evenly across the tyre.

I wish! My first D4 would average around 25,000 miles and this one (that I'm driving a little harder, to be fair), will struggle to get close to 25,000!

I wonder if its becuase I use AT tyres? The best were 18inch AT2 at 50,000 but the 19inch GGATs wore well and the Duratracs seem to be doing OK after 10,000.

From the front and side the new D5 looks 8) it is massive and has presence with what i think is quite a butch looking front end. That photo comparison demonstrates the external scale of it nicely
