Give yourself plenty of time and some lightweight gloves are handy as its a hand scratcher.getting tge cable barrel ends in the lock is a. Pig have a good look at the clips on the new actuator as you have to connect
Them by feel in the door and you need a good visual in your head.good luck MY05 SE D3 Manual my first LR what a car

Andy, as Mark says it's a hand scratcher. It's easier than the passenger one, as you don't have the emergency key lock cable.
You'll need some tape of some sort to hold the glass up once you start. Get the longest long nose pliers that you can......... It's not that bad

Releasing the glass from the plastic tabs is a pain
Use a flat piece of plastic to keep the tab open on the one furthest away from your reach whilst you pey the one nearest apart otherwise they just keep reengaging
Be gentle and maybe wise to warm the plastic up with hairdryer to keep them from snapping....................................................................................................

I found you need arms like popeye's Olive, could not get my arm in at all , so have someone standing by with skinny arms to release the clip inside the door.
Have fun

I found unclipping the window glass reasonably easy. I dropped
The window about 4", to have enough room to get my arm in.
What ever you do, don't try and muck round and remove the outside door handle cable from the actuator.
It's to painful to detach the cable, instead keep the cable
Attached and remove the outside door handle, cable and
Actuator altogether, once removed its 10,000% easier
to detach (and reattach ) the cable from the actuator.
Use a long screw driver from the interior side of the door to remove a
Screw that secures the outside handle to The door, there is a circular sticker that needs to be removed to expose a small hole that will allow a screwdriver access to the screw, then on the outside of the door pull the small section of plastic next to the handle off (pull directly Outwards from the door, 2 plastic clips keeps it in place )
The outside handle needs to be pulled horizontally back along the door about 1cm and then pulled outwards, the handle will detach.
From Memory there is a plastic locking plug which the inside screw was attached to, that needs to be removed, then the outside door handle mechanism can be pushed freely Into the door cavity.
The actuator can be unbolted and removed with the cable
And door handle attached, now the cable can be easily detached
It only takes me 60 seconds to Remove the handle when you know
What your doing.
Believe me, this method will save hours of time and your sanity.

I never got round to sorting it and it's sort of fixed itself. It will open but not lock. I've got so used to locking it when I get out, pressing door lock lever, I've never bothered.
I still have the actuator so you can have it if your in a hurry for what I paid for it. Can't remember what that was but got it from AF

The real fun starts when one day you go back to it and find it will not unlock, and it will happen, just make sure the passenger door manual key entry lock is working and be prepared to get your leg over twice a day It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.
