Driving Lamps
I ordered the Disco driving lamps last time my vehicle was in for a service (Stratstones, Durham) and they are still on "back order". Been waiting now for over 3 weeks and the dealer has no clue when they may become available !! Anyone know what's the issue with these lamps, surely they are quite a popular accessory so should be easily availabale ? Also the dealer wants over £200 to fit them, does this seem fair ??

£200
If you can wait for TFC to get back from Moroocco, he will fit them (and do whatever other work you want) for less than that & it can be done at your house. Bodsys Brake Bible
And if you're prepared to wait a bit longer, you could buy a set of 140 LightForce lights from 10forCash in the group buy- much better than the LR ones and probably not much more money.
(If you have Xenon headlamps, you'll probably not notice whether the LR ones are on)Time flies like an arrow; fruit flies like a banana
I think the 140s and 170s are cheaper than the LR ones even before the group buy discount. Check out Devon4x4 for retail prices. MUCH better lamp than the LR one.I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

My dealer were looking for £500 to supply and fit!!
Being the tight git that I am, I secured a pair of 8" stainless Lights via e-bay for £50.
The biggest issue for me is that it didn't look like the genuine LR ones, as they had squared protection covers.
I made a few snips and beefed up the remaining spars.
Looks similar now to the originals.
i know, they're on at a slight angle and my D3 is dirty!
will all be sorted in about an hour!...... always on the road less travelled 🚧
Nick, what about the wiring loom and switch? Is that available as a separate item and is that on backorder too?I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.
Oh dear. I'm thinking TFC will be wanting some switches to go with the group buy on Lightforces? Only a guess on my part, haven't looked at one of his light instals but I presume the switch would be rated for the load. I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Thanks for all the input. On a separate subject, how do you get the Landrover lettering for the A-frame ? I have the Landrover A-frame but it is just black plastic !!

Taz , no offence , did you give the indentations on the bar a good wipe/scrub with some alcohol prior to fixing them ?
Only suggestion I have is to peel the original sticky tape from the back of your decals and reapply some automotive double sided tape to the decal , then have a go again .
Superglues etc are brittle when dry and you'd have even more fall off after a while.
