Limp mode - restart engine cures it

Hi, so many posts about this makes it difficult to see the wood for the trees...!

Got a 55 plate Disco3 2.7TDI automatic.

Twice now the car has gone into limp mode, once while towing uphill in cruise control and once not towing not in cruise control.

Both times, just pulled over, turned the engine off , removed the key, restarted the engine and the car was fine to drive normally...

Car going to garage Monday to get the fault codes read, any ideas what it could be and more importantly what the costs would be to fix it!!

you need the fault code to start the diagnosis.

As you can see from posts already made, it could be one or more of a whole host of things!

Get the car code read, and then you will have some clues. Thumbs Up

Just got my Defender (Puma) back today after exhibiting the same symptoms. Turned out to be the MAF sensor.

ERG values.....

Got the fault codes read and an indy is saying the ERG values are showing faults, does that sound right?

They want £750 to replace them!!
