Tracking issue... been back twice still pulls to left |
|
Hi,
I was at Kwik Fit today to get the tracking assessed on my car. The outcome is that they reset it twice and their computer says it's 100% but my car still pulls to the left. Tyre pressures are the same for each front/back pair.
My car is LHD and normally lives on the continent. On the other side of the road driving to the UK before Christmas it developed a pull to the left. I return on Monday and want it fixed before, and tomorrow is my last chance.
They reported that all was well at that the toe-in was out on one rear and one front wheel. Second time back I was told that they biased the "return to centre" on the steering wheel as opposed to the toe-in. It still feels wrong.
Can you advise what may be the problem here? What specific feedback can I give to the pimple-faced youth tomorrow that may enable him to sort this out? My feeling is that there is something a none-landrover shop is missing. Bushes to the rear perhaps? Should the tyres be rotated? I specifically requested that Kwik Fit pry all of the wheels and loom for worn bushes before trying to realign the wheels, but maybe this fell on deaf ears.
Thanks
Andy

You need a proper 4 wheel alignment not a Kwik fit fitter randomly guessing what's wrong.
Write off the money you've paid, get it properly aligned and your world will be a happier place.

Tyre pressures ok? it could also be worn bushes/balljoints causing your problem.

Have a phone round and find a tyre shop with a Hunter tracking set-up, and your troubles will be over.
