[For Sale] Heated Steering Wheel
I have finally got my Heated steering wheel sorted and it was well worth the effort.
I have almost a full second wheel in parts and would suit anyone who wants to do the upgrade as a relatively cheap starting point.
Up for sale is a heated wheel (i think its from a RRS) it is Black leather with perforated grips.
Its in very good order, see pics. I have done a continuity test to check its fully functioning.
It has the MY14 wheel ECU in it.
There is no other loom in it and no paddles fitted.
I believe the loom part number is LR05751 which is available for around £20 from parts dept.
It has the brass centering weight.
It has the two switch packs - RH is Cruise Control (+adaptive but this is easily blanked off if not required)
LH has the telephone plus voice control buttons.
I have had both switch packs fitted to my car and both work perfectly.
This is ideal if you want the heated wheel and are willing to utilise your own loom with or without paddles etc. Its a doddle to strip the wheel down and change the switch packs to suit what your car has.
I am looking simply to recover some of the cost of fitting mine.
I would like £165 + postage for the wheel complete with switch packs as above.
If its UK mainland postage, i would think it will be around £10-15 for a courier.

Do you know if the set up works as a set? I would also like to ask if you ended up with the newer type ECU in your 2010 car?

The switches all work with the wheel - all illuminate and function as should.
I had to get the older type ECU for my car as its a 2010.
Not sure how early a car the new type ecu works on. It is labelled MY14.
I advertised as a good starting point on the basis of I don't know if it would simply plug in and work on every model year. I had a bit of a faff finding the right combination but thankfully there is loads of info on this forum (thanks to everyone here btw).
If it helps the wheel and switches plugged into my 2010 model and work. The heating would not with the MY14 ECU. I also believe you would need other components for the adaptive cruise control to work.

I've been trying to get the HSW function to work on my 2012MY by using a wheel from here but have had all kinds of problems. I wondered if I were to have more options with another wheel and different switches that I may be able to make something out of the bigger choice of parts. I had it working for five minutes but it died for some reason. Maybe I'll get a sparks on it first and then come back for parts if required. I feel the later ECU is likely not to work with my 2012MY.
