Walnut trim, sell or repaint?

I'm about to pick up a 2010 Discovery which has the walnut trim on the dash and doors, I'm much more a fan of the black lacquer though. I'm not sure if the walnut is saleable, or should I just paint over it.

Anyone have an idea how tricky it is to remove and how well it takes a paint coat?

I had the "walnut" trim in my last Disco and it's a pretty rough finish to base an ultra gloss paint finish on. Even if you could take if off (I can't see how it could be done easily) and re-paint it, I daren't think how much preparation would be needed!

You soon learn to ignore it
