Alternator? code-P0625
On sunday my battery warning light came on briefly when starting the car for the second journey of the day, fault code P0625-00 (2e) was logged so on monday I monitored the voltage which was in the high 14's creeping over 15 a couple of times which was a bit worrying but went back down again pretty swiftly.
Then today on the motorway I tried to turn the stereo up and was notified that we were in low power mode. Plugged in the iid and voltage was holding 11.8 -12.3 so I duly turned off any electronics not needed but by the end of the journey we were swinging from 11.2-12
I'm now off for a spot of alternator shopping unless anyone thinks I'm jumping the gun?my06 D3

No, you're right. Alternator is on its way out. Richard

Yep, deffo alternator. D3 doesn't have ACE, RRS has it and I believe it stands for Active Cornering Enhancement or something similar.

So put the new alternator on without any special tools for the fan. I used the screwdriver 'under across and over' method mentioned in a guide linked to through here (i think) here is a photo of how to wedge the driver just enough to break the tension in the bolt. there wasn't the room to get a pic with the adjustable in there as well but by holding onto the screwdriver here the pulleys movement can be restricted enough my06 D3

happy christmas everyone!
so my alternator code has popped up again, after 2 weeks of happy motoring I drove to my dad's on xmas eve, 30miles, parked up until yesterday went to start it and got voltage high message p0626 with battery light on, thought it must be the battery as it had been cold so charged it overnight, back to 14-15v for 8 miles then driving up a hill the voltage just ticked down to 12 over 1/2 mile. with voltage low warning. i'm now thinking a dodgy connection somewhere? (new battery last year) even though the alternator isnt a denso one it should last more than 250 miles surely! my06 D3

had a couple of other codes appear on boxing day when the car was parked, one for the vintillation b1b78-84 and another for the airbag u0073-88 - bus is off. it's beginning, I also discovered a mouse under the rear seats in the boot.... could the little critter have caused all of these issues?
also is the easiest way to check the alternator loom to remove the osf plastic arch?my06 D3

I'm avoiding the wheel arch for the time being Yesterday I began removing the central console to see if there is any wire damage, then my sister popped in so I left it overnight with the battery disconnected, put it all back together and took the dog for a walk, the alternator was working for about a mile so I'm now thinking it's not a wiring issue and back to it being the alternator possibly overcharging and cutting out or a module/chip somewhere? my06 D3

Same thing happened to me two weeks ago after a 700 mile drive to Yorkshire, next morning on start up battery light and only showing 13.5 volts which quickly when down to 12. Did abit of reading on hear and found the how to guide which was fantastic. Advanced factors had the alternator with me the next day and I am. Back up to 14.5 volts
Thank you for all your help

See my previous post about getting a genuine part
There are many threads about alternators on here, and the consensus is to get a genuine Denso.Richard
