Not those particular ones, but I have a set of Bodsy's Bars:

http://www.disco4.com/forum/topic137045.ht...y%5Cs+bars

Well worth the money/investment. Even if they don't save you from an off-roading incident, the protect your paintwork for annoying car park dents/scratches.

They look pretty good quality with 4mm steel and the price isn't stupid either. The design looks familiar and used by many.

There's a similar set on eBay for £260 + postage I've been eyeing up.

Are they just as good for stepping in as side bars/steps ?

Another reason for installing mine is so the kids/folks can get in and out easily. So yes, they are good for that too.

The ones for £260 on the bay are Carls. I've a set on mine and there solid. I just put grip tape on to stop the feet sliding off when it's wet.

I am very tempted by the one's on fleabay. With another support added, they should be quite strong and significantly cheaper than anything else.

Has anybody rubbed against a tree or rock and found out how well they cope?

@professorpool - they are easy to fit - just bolt on.

Can they be used as a jacking point?

Hard to understand why the word "knee" was censored there.

PaulJC - thoughts on them as a jacking point? For say a high lift jack?
