I've partly disassembled them and cannot see why a total overhaul could not be done. As ever, dealers will only replace a module rather than repair it but the gear modules are seriously expensive, so worth the effort to repair the mechanical bits.

Interesting is there a physical bulb led or filament to replace.Now with: Tow bar & storage, Xenon's, Remote Timed Climate, Mood Lighting, Cubby Fridge, DRL's & Mud Flaps
