Green only. When I operate the switch nothing happens. I'll check the wheel for continuity and make sure all my connections are good. The wheel was in direct sunlight yesterday and may not actually have worked at all as the side where the door was open was markedly cooler that the "protected" side. So much so the wife commented that it seemed cooler. I won't really know until I test the circuit.FFRR 2017 4.4SDV8 Autobiography. Cost so much I must be mad!

Sound advice. I'll strip it all down to check car to clock spring to ecu to wheel. Everything else on the wheel works, cruise, paddles, phone et al so only the wheel isn't at present.

Sorted.
Someone had heard the connection from car to clock spring had clicked and assumed it was home. They obviously didn't know the connection had to be pushed another 2mm to do it correctly. Never mind. I've sorted it out. Thanks all.
Lovely and toasty btw. FFRR 2017 4.4SDV8 Autobiography. Cost so much I must be mad!

Sorry to hijack but does anyone else's wheel not get very hot? It's warm enough but I was expecting it to get quite toasty like the seats do.
It gets warm but not hot..... which is pretty logical really Joined the BMWX5 45e group

So went to Tesco's with the Mrs and it worked a treat, switch turned orange/red and it warmed a treat. On the way back it wouldn't work.
Checked the fuse and continuity and all is fine right up to the ECU. Going to put it back together to see if anything has changed.

Nope, not working.
Can't believe it worked so well then stopped. I have gone as far as I can and am at the stage of throwing the wheel as far as I can.
I think I need to fit my new wheels and forget the steering wheel for a bit. Come back to it when I'm not so "emotional".

What did it not do?
Did the switch go red when you pressed it or did it just not get hot?

It went red and heated beautifully. I was chuffed. I got in the car to drive home and it didn't work. I've pulled it apart ten times since and checked continuity and all seems good but now the switch stays green and the wheel stays cold. FFRR 2017 4.4SDV8 Autobiography. Cost so much I must be mad!

So you've proved you got 12v at the ECU?
Did you check the resistance of the connections going onto the wheel (when unplugged from the ECU) - IIRC the thicker wires are the heating element and the thinner ones the thermistor?
