Webasto FBH Valve
Does anyone know if it is possible to retrofit the isolating valve so all heat is directed to the cabin as in the factory option?D4 HSE

No idea... but I prefer not having the island valve as I want the FBH to heat the engine more than I want it to heat the cabin.MY16 D4 Graphite in Loire Blue

Yes it can be done and there is a seller in Germany providing complete kits.
The island valve is brilliant and I am not sure why someone would prefer heating a lump of metal and its surroundings over the bit where people sit.Land Rover - Turning Drivers into Mechanics Since 1948

anything is possible, but how easy/difficult it would be to do depends on the layout of the water piping in relation to the engine/heater circuit. I dont have any of this to hand right now, but heaps of useful information including links to Webasto installation and maintenance manuals in the FBH section on the Wiki.
However I too would personally prefer my engine to be warmed up first - after all, as soon as the engine is warm then the heat gets through to the cabin anyway!

My valve - pretty simple but effective:

Reduce engine wear.

The usual reason is to reduce fuel consumption and engine wear, and a warm engine will heat the cabin quickly. A warm cabin won't heat the engine.
Happy to learn if evidence is that cold engines with modern engine oils no longer experience increased wear.
But when it is parked the engine isn't running!
If you run the parking heater it warms the cabin first, defrosting as it goes, before switching to the rest of the coolant system with any residual heat. Achieving normal running temperature with so much of the system warm takes no time at all.

But when I press the Start button, the stress on a pre-warmed engine is much less than on a warmed one. Most of the damage is done in the first few hundred revs, AFAIK, so no change for the engine to warm itself.
By preference, I'd have an island valve that ensures the engine warms up first and then any residual heat is used to heat the cabin, but that's not an option (is it?)
Sounds like I'm happy without the island valve, and you're happ with it, so everyone's happy.MY16 D4 Graphite in Loire Blue
