True fuel cost on 2010 D4
Looking at buying 2010 D4 and just wondering if anyone can give me some true mpg figures.
its not a real problem to me but still needs to come at a budget.
Thanks in advance

For my 2012 D4 an average of 27.3 mpg in 17k miles.
More than usual amount of pootling about in town though, so for more long distance stuff and a greater proportion of Dual carriageway and motorway driving i would expect an average much closer to 30 mpg.
On long runs I can achieve 34mpg with no bother at all.D1 300Tdi - gone
D2 Td5 ES (Alive remapped...mmm) - sadly gone
D4 2012 SDV6 XS - Stolen
D4 2014 SDV6 HSE - Shiny

Depends how you drive.
If you drive across county on a roads at say 50-60 you will probably do around 32 (my computer said average of 36mpg yesterday after about 1 hour driving.) - the computer lies
If you drive at 85 on the motorway abroad, you will probably do around 22mpg. Computer reads 25 average.
Short journeys are not great.
I've literally just paid my £500 VED for the year. Not cheap to run!
Edit: wouldn't want to be driving anything else though!

MPG does seem to fall off a cliff when you drive faster than about 60mph.D1 300Tdi - gone

That's what I found. 33.4mpg one way at 60mph, 26.6mpg on same route back at 75mph.

Thanks guys. Most of my driving is a real mixed bag really. To work it's 15 miles each way most of it by-pass.
I do on average about 250 miles a week in the Freelander 2 costs me about £35.
I used to run a Porsche the same distance and that would cost me around £50
So I'm recon £50 in fuel in D4 be about right give and take

How does the app work? What info do you have to input into the app?

Mileage, litres and cost, or mileage, total cost and ppl. Plus it logs the location I you want it to. Simples. It'll track all your costs but you have to put all the info in. That's something I'm not brave enough to do.
