Such as stated above does apply to use as well as fitment though, all other requirements being met (E-marking etc.). Just about anything may be mounted for off-road use, but the regulations are written with regard to road use, with it falling under the category of an optional main beam lamp. Did not want to mount on the roof and also I obviously had the ARB winch bumper to mount on. My mechanic, a 4x4 specialist especially for offroaders, I believe used the supplied wiring looms.
The two smaller outside spots are facing slightly outward.
The throw of light is truly awesome.
The back light is set to flood and also provides decent light when reversing.
I do not have switches as my front lights are legal with the main beam and the reverse light is wired into the existing reversing lights.
You should note that roof mounted are only legal for on-the-road use (including green laning therefore) if fitted inline or forward of the front axle - which is why you see them on trucks but few cars.
You can have them fitted you understand, just not allowed to use them
thks and duly noted ref the lights
that is a serious bit of kit, ur arb winch
didn't know that about roof lights, wonder how many people fit them and then only find out when mr plod pulls them over
had some spots mounted on the front of my old freelander which was really handy for greenlaning ,
land rover sold a complete loom, don't know if that's the case with the D3 , was all plug in, relays , switches etc
bought the LHD version as a dealer wanted to get rid of them and just had to extend 4x wires
would like to do that again with my D3 , might mount some leds this time, as i only want it for the side illumination if that makes sense, using my full beam for ahead then leds to see each side of the track etc

So this is where I am at going for lazer st4 or triple r750 elite now the question do I get a second hand grill cut holes in it to fit them some how I have had a look at the brackets that are in the above link and like the idea or do I get the side mountings and fit them to the front bumper where you would fit standard spots or final option tit them in the gap above the front number plate

steve , there does to be a few options
i did at first look at the A nudge bar, but are stupid money for what they are
do like the bracket idea, don't know if i've got the bottle to sit there and cut holes in the grill
suppose it would be nice if there was some form of surround trim
but then as u say ref the other bumper idea , number plate fixing mounting

At work we have two discoverys with blue lights fitted in the gap above the number plate and you don't notice them to much until they are turned on so I was thinking of trying a similar set up but with the lazers

oh that sounds good, with it not ruining the front grill look and not standing out
u don't happen to have any similar pics or links do u please
also thinking if there fitted like that , may deter little light fingered s rots in trying to pinch them
i've got the standard grill fitted, wonder if led lights were fitted behind a mesh style grill without being cut out , in how much light u would indeed get
or with my open slat tyre grill a long led light fitted behind the grill , acting as a flood light ???

I have sent lazer a email asking about fitting options I think size might be the deciding factor if they will fit in the gap above number plate or if it's plan b
If it is of any use, rivnuts behind the grille can make a good basis for mounting. This is how my lamps are fitted (they are somewhat bigger and heavier though!):

that's a great idea
i've only done brackets on a bumper before on my old freelander , it they stuck out like a sore thumb
but with the D3 feel the same type would ruin it
really like what you've done and others in how they've been mounted
