Point taken, but it's useful regarding components and fitting. The locating ability is a worthwhile enhancement for those without Tracker service. See where the dealer's technician takes it when testing - is it that great bacon butty van on the next trading estate?

I just installed the Wbus-4 today and its a fantastic bit of kit. Just wondering, if anybody knows, in the event of the disco being stolen, could vodafone track the sim card location? Would they be able to get a precise location or just the cell tower it connected to?

If it's the STD version (no gps) then they'd be able to track it the same as any mobile device by cell triangulation. Can't imagine it would be too pleased having to do it though. Think they reserve that for missing people unless the police have an arrangement with the mobile providers? There are some police related people on here may be able to advise further.

Here in Holland they won't. Because of privacy laws etc.

I can see where it might be a privacy issue where the police or a 3rd party is requesting tracking but dont see why there would be an issue with the account owner tracking his stolen property

Fitted mine today but it won't connect to the app (does not recognise the id on the system) and will not read from the heater.

All sorted and working perfectly thanks to a little help from Thomas. I now have a working FBH for the first time since owning the car.

I stripped and cleaned the unit whilst changing the coolant expansion tank (low coolant reading due to faulty sensor). Then purchased an Altox WBUS 5 from Beanie (other suppliers are available lol).

I have mounted it in the engine bay S I didn't want to mess with cars wiring internally. Positive to battery terminal and ground to side of engine compartment. Then blue cable from Altox to pin 2 on the FBH. Incedently the unit came with the metal pin to add to an extension wire so no need to buy one separately.

Loaded SIM (EE) and downloaded the app. Had a few issues trying to register the unit but Thomas kindly stepped in and helped me out with the correct settings. I was a little confused over the APN1: settings. I would recommend messaging Thomas just to make sure you have the right password and settings for your network.

Just in case you go for an EE SIM like I have these are the APN settings you'll need to text to the unit:

1 apn1:everywhere
2 apn2:eesecure
3 apn3:secure

Thanks once more to Thomas for emailing me the solution to my issue in the time it took me to drive to shop for a pint of milk!

For reference Google the APN setting for the network chosen and Robert is your fathers sister Thumbs Up

I believe EE is

APN - everywhere
Username - eesecure
Password - secure

Tesco mobile is

APN - prepay.tesco-mobile.com
Username - tescowap
Password - password

Thumbs Up

Support from Thomas is fantastic Bow down

My FBH EXPERIENCE
orderd the Altox GPS unit from Beanie, thanks for the rapid delivery, installed it yesterday, downloaded the app from the App Store ! Popped in a Tesco sim with £10 worth of credit, using the app to clear the fault codes, then she fired up first time
