D3 to RRS SC Brake Servo Upgrade
Once I've upgraded my D3 brakes to 3.0 D4 and changed my brake hoses I'm considering upgrading my brake Servo but I have a few questions!
Is it easy enough to change and is there a marked improvement that makes doing the upgrade worth while?
I have researched on here and from what I can see the upgraded part number should be SJJ500080, however, when I looked at my mates 07 RRS SC his part number was SJG500044, anybody know which it should be?
Made a difference to mine - master cylinder was wearing out and was causing a slight drag and increased fuel consumption, which is why I changed it (it had done 200k plus). Following the change of both, the brake peddle is now lighter (but not as light as most small cars) and more effective. Mark.

Top man, thanks for the info
Is the part you bought TRW and where from if you don't mind me asking?
Excuse my ignorance here, but how does an IID aid in brake bleeding? I do have an IID and I also have an Eezibleed kit.
Roughly how long did it take to change both the cylinder and the servo?
The Iid tool has (well beta does) the bleed routine. Basically you run the routine and it tells you which wheel cylinder to open and in conjunction with you pumping the peddle, shuts off the other brake ports and operates the abs to force the brake fluid out. When that wheel is finished, it does the next until all are done.
It did take two runs around the car to get mine right, but I had a very early beta copy of the routine and wasn't optimised.
I bought all oem, from eBay both brand new and genuine
Took about 3hours from memory (well would have done, if I'd not also changed both front wheel bearings, disks and pads. And I had help from Bodsy )Mark.

You don't have to bleed the brakes when doing the servo alone My D3 Build Thread
How the heck do you get the servo off without first taking off the master cylinder? Mark.

It needs unbolted, but you don't need to disturb the pipework.
Even on a manual car, you don't have to bleed the clutch after removing the pipes My D3 Build Thread
Looks to be, says its TRW - I didn't pay that either - but I think I was lucky Mark.
