Discovery 2005 2.7TDV6 HSE - black
Hi all, new to this forum and Discovery owning. Had a p38 and a defender, loved them both. The p38 was a bit of a nightmare, probably shouldn't have bought it, but hey I was young and in love. Figure I'll be spending quite some time on this forum, lots of good reads already.
Bought a 140k miles 2005 2.7TDV6 HSE in black today, not my favourite color (yet), but with a couple of modifications it can look pretty good. Bit disappointed it has no sunroof and cargo seats, but it has been very well maintained, last three years it drove 40k and was serviced at a dealer (can you believe it), so all 10year service stuff seems to have been done. In addition to all the usual suspects, compressor, gearbox and glow plugs.
Exterior has some dings and scratches but I believe this was the "sensible" car to buy and hopefully will have me spend less time underneath the vehicle and more on cosmetics.
Anyway, who cares about the story, pictures is what everybody wants so I'll try and post some this weekend.

Looks good
All UK HSEs have sunroof so must be a difference in European spec?
Lots of mods to be done if you like - some like original spec though?
Enjoy

Was my worry too, then some joker maybe added an H on the back, but who does that to a disco??
It's all a bit confusing, also no 19" rims but those could've easily been past on in 11 years. It has leather and memory seats (with armreasts) + mirrors. Parksensors, but only in the back. HK Logic 7. Heated rear seats. I'm blaming it all on being a early model, I think I've read there were some exceptions for 2005 models.

On the plus side, you won't have to worry about the dreaded sunroof leak....

For mods I want and try to keep it subtle, a fresh and updated disco3 if that makes sense. Thinking of starting with roof rails, front lamp guards, tailgate light housing, Disco4 rear lights. Perhaps side step (bar) if I don't colour code.

Rails are also standard on U.K. HSE
I prefer the rock/tree sliders to the side steps. The steps seem to stick out some what?

After spending quite some time reading and searching I've made my first orders
UK customs cargo liner
D4 rear lights
Extended black roof rails (aftermarket)
Smoked side indicators
Front side light CREE LEDs
Had to constrain myself, was getting greedy. I also really like the Osram Fog DRLs, but apparently it's not plug and play on a D3. Still les work than the angel eye/ led ring option though, are there any other options that people know of apart from these?

It was surprisingly clean, felt disappointed and relieved at the same time. Perhaps it was cleaned/changed at last service five months ago.

Fitted ukcostumcovers cargo liner today, material feels pretty decent. Fitting it took me quite long, second time would be much quicker though. Only thing I don't like is that a piece of velcro sticks out over the middle back seat, besides that you wouldn't notice it's there.

Fitted the extended roof rails, after removing the trim I found the nuts plugged with what I thought was paint.
I thought screwing in a smaller size bolt might clear the thread. I was lucky the paint seal broke and plugs were revealed.
Good to go.

Nothing was provided to secure the end caps, not sure what's the best way to do this, any tips?
Fairly happy with the result, the quality of bolts is low so make sure you use an alan key that fits tightly, or even better an OEM kit.
Also fitted led front side lights which look way better. Did the first one and rember thinking what minimal effort was needed for such a nice result. Went on to do the second and ended up with part of the led inside the headlamp don't ask. Managed to correct it in the end, got lucky.

Put a new modified grill on it. Gives it a bit of a freshen up
