Viscous fan shroud (and hello!)
Firstly, hello all. It's my first post on here. I've recently bought a 2006 D3 HSE. I'm really enjoying it and gradually sorting a few minor problems.
Simple question today. The viscous fan cover is loose and only really held in place by the air intake duct and the radiator hose. It moves around a bit and fouls the fan occasionally, making a hideous noise.
Should it be held in place by clips or something?

Thanks for that. I'll add it to the list of stuff I need from Lloyds in Carlisle.

I'm afraid I'm struggling a bit on this. I visited the local LR dealer and their parts dept printed me out the parts diagram. There don't appear to be any clips to attach the shroud to the radiator - also I can't see where they would go in the car.
At present, I have a plastic cowl covering the fan and the top of the radiator. The air intake pipe is attached to this, as is the coolant hose. It is only held in place by the air intake pipe. The whole lot is fairly mobile and wobbles about, sometimes fouling the fan and making a bad noise.
Any further advice?

The top fan cowl slots in to the lower fan cowl, if you take off the air intake pipe then you should be able to readjust the top cowl it can be a pain.
Ps I'm glad you found one. Chris

Mine is the same on the nearside, so I just drilled it nice and close to the two edges and joined the two shrouds with cable ties.
