Thanks for the feedback Max. I've been watching the Italian thread using google to translate, which whilst obviously isn't perfect, it does give a good idea of people's comments.
Compressor usage would be much less at a constant +50 in normal height than if off-road mode was used due to frequent automatic lowering and having to raise to off-road height again.Home of LLAMS, for LRs and Jeep GCs

used my Llams system extensivly and am very impressed. My usual modus operandi is - once in the dirt I'll select +30 (Orange) and run at that height - if its starts to get interesting I'll shoot it strait into +50 (Red) and leave it there. When some thing extra interesting appears then it's up with the LR offroad height (question - is it right that it can be locked into LR offroad +50 so that when - each time your speed returns under the 40km it returns to offroad height.)
SO - once really into the scrub over 50 km it is up 50mm and below (if required) its up about 85/90mm - best of both worlds.
I'm again flooded in in Wangaratta - today drove out thru the floodwaters (not real deep at this stage) but couldn't crack a bow wave cause the D3 body was so high.

Hi Preacher,
I'm pleased that you're finding it useful - your use is the same as mine. Occasionally a gravel road is smooth enough for normal height but it doesn't take too many bumps to wish +30 was in use. IMO, +30 makes a big improvement in ride, probably due to both the extra bump-stop clearance and the slightly stiffer springs.
Llams does not reprogram the suspension ecu so LR off-road mode will not be automatically re-selected when speed drops below the reselection threshold of about 35kph.
Maybe you can stay above the flotsam!Home of LLAMS, for LRs and Jeep GCs

A few times it seemed that the LR offroad height reselected itself but it probably hadn't dropped down - one tends to take the foot of the go pedal when the bong happens.
On another note - my wife has just put her back out and ! was using the GREEN light and the LR access height that lowers the vehicle to get it as low as possible for her entry and exit.
One one occasion I ommitted to switch the GREEN off and travelled on the bitumen and a few KM of dirt road before I realised the suspension was down. HOWEVER it was fine - no rubbing even with the 265 70 17 mud tyers. So another very handy attribute to the Llams system.
Further if I was a lair it would probably look real good cruising around with the suspension right down around the tyers

A person found that Llams was useful when a wheel speed sensor wire was broken. The suspension system lowers the vehicle to around access height whenever an ABS fault is recorded, which would have made for a very difficult exit from the boulder-strewn track where this vehicle was. Llams at +50 kept the vehicle at about normal height, which whilst wasn't anywhere near off-road c/w +50, it was significantly better than access height. He then drove at normal speeds across Tasmania at normal height rather than slowly at access height to get to a dealer.Home of LLAMS, for LRs and Jeep GCs

The sytem has arrived in Singapore. I am out in a couple of weeks 4wding in Malaysia and have hitched a ride with a D3 owner who has just purchased the system, dont know if he will have it fitted by then but will get to have a close up look at it in action soon. I can see one going to Darwin! Take the road less traveled. Thanks Graeme,
I was just going to post about this great added benefit of Llams, but I see you've done it.

Sorry for stealing your thunder, and thanks for the challenge back in 2008 to develop a solution to the constant lowering - IIRC on or after Madigan's.Home of LLAMS, for LRs and Jeep GCs

I had just a little problem. The jumper in LLAMS controller fell out without me knowing and I started getting faults with the suspension which did not allow any LR height settings. I thought the problem must have been not pushing the connectors fully together. I decided to go through the whole process again, disconnecting the batteries and pulling the connectors apart and then reconnecting the connectors. Then I heard something "rattling" around in the controller box, and I found the jumper had come loose.
After recalibration everything worked perfectly, no faults. Now I am really happy.
The jumper is a 1 cent part and it caused a $100k vehicle the suspension to "fail".06 TDV6 SE with many LR and after-market extras. Used only on weekends and trips out west.

A bit like the 1 cent parts on the rest of the D3? “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

The 9 cent gold plated jumper needs to be pressed fully onto the pins as the crimp is right at the top. I've discarded a few that weren't very tight but it seems that I've missed at least 1 - sorry DT. The jumper doesn't need to be fitted but because its used for re-calibration (a screwdriver can be used instead if you're quick), a spare post is provided so that it can be fitted over 2 posts. The few prototype PCBs didn't have the spare post and it was a bit hit and miss as to whether the jumper stayed on just 1 post. The next version will only have 2 posts to use a screwdriver and without the need to be quick.
Edit: Calibration can be easily achieved without using the jumper by setting the switch to +50 then shorting posts 1 & 2 together with a screwdriver. If the vehicle has already started to rise, it will soon drop back to normal height once posts 1 & 2 have been shorted because initiating calibration cancels any current height adjustment. Then continue with setting the switch to -20 when at normal height etc. A new module has zero height adjustments stored so +50 will have not cause the vehicle to rise prior to calibration.Home of LLAMS, for LRs and Jeep GCs
