I downloaded parts of the workshop manual for a 2007 model and the suspension doc states 55mm extra for off-road height but no specific measurement for the other heights. Because the suspension ecu allows tolerances when establishing heights, the actual height almost always is not exactly spot-on the specification. The specification may also have changed without the doc having been updated and the spec may be different for different year models. Tight tolerance mode causes the height to be closer to specification but as it only applies in normal height mode, it wont improve the accuracy of off-road height. The docs for the early L322 (non Terrain Response system) state the standard tolerance is +/- 10mm. I've measured 45mm difference at times. The 50mm, 70mm and 90mm heights sound vaguely familiar.

Rich's details for the set-up show fitment of the switch in a D3. Just wondering where people are fitting the switch in D4's. A photo would be good if possible.

Thanks in advance.
Cheers, Barry

I'm getting mine fitted this week, and we have discussed the options of either where Graeme fitted his (replace one 12V on console); in space where the driving light switch goes on a D3 (lhs of steering wheel); or in the panel where the headlight switch gear goes as there is room there too. Will post photos end of week.

My suggestion would be on the plate for the light switch. Pull out the main surround and you will see there is a lot of space in the switch plate next to the switch. Just disconnect the switch wires so you can install the switch. Idea

I preferred not to modify/damage an expensive part. IIRC the D4 headlight switch is a module rather than a panel.

The switch on the D4 is smaller than the D3 leaving more space aroundit for switch(s).

CaverD3 - do you mean the Long Ranger switch for the D4 is smaller than the same pump switch/guage on the D3.....? (good, means I might squeeze bith in same area on D4 light switch panel); otherwise I assume a switch can still be mounted in D4 where the D3 auxilliary light switch goes.
cheers
Chris

No the actual light switch panel ( the black hard platic bit) on the D4 is the same size as the panel on the D3 but the actual light switch on the D4 is smaller giving more space for switches. Pull off the vent suurond and look (it just pulls off from the bottom with a good tug) and see where you could put the switch. You can put it where the driving light switch is too. Just easier to fit to ard plastic.

I have already tried the light switch panel. Mine is an MY11 and may be different to earlier D4's and although there appears to be plenty of room on the front of the light switch panel, when you pull it off there is definitely not room in the light switch panel for it.
Cheers.

The one we fitted the air system to had enough space for two mini rocker switches. How big is the switch for the Llams?

The Llams switch is a 25mm dia rotary switch with a 3mm LED on the outside, poking out from under the glue-type heatshrink that protects the components on the back of the switch. The supplied knob is 19mm. At least 1 person has fitted a 26mm knob (Jaycar HK7740) that looks quite similar to other D4 knobs and used a galvanised washer, which I think looks quite good when mounted instead of the driver's accessory power socket. It seems logical to me to locate the switch near other suspension switches.
