Thanks Rich. Its better than my 1st attempt that had the LED forward of the switch and obscured by the knob. It will be stuck in place with silicone once I've made a pattern from it, although the switch fits so snugly in the console hole that the plate doesn't move anyway. The hole had to be slightly enlarged where the LED wires run down the side of the switch although the accessory socket will still look perfect if re-installed later as the enlarged area is within the step for the socket. I'll include a template for this mounting plate c/w the switch holes. The holes can be used even if not making this plate.
Looms are paid for now but I probably wont get them until Monday as I leave home early Friday for a 900 km drive then 1000 km drive home the next day. I'm keen to get some kits to BD in time for the LROC expo at Castle Hill on Sunday (not Saturday) week. BD rang today wanting to know when to expect some kits as he has had quite a few inquiries.
I discovered that my recent concerns about cashflow for this project were somewhat unfounded when I got the loom invoice. I had mentally doubled the price of the looms twice (2 different looms get joined together) although my earlier detailed costings were correct. All is well!

Hello Max,
Thanks for the compliments. I only hope that people find it as useful as I do and find it worth its cost. I don't know what I would do without mine as I use +30mm every time for the 2 kms between my house and front gate to avoid hitting the front bump-stops whilst travelling at speeds up to 70kph. I fitted the original test version of this system on 10th February (about 6 weeks after getting my D4) out of urgency to provide a solution that did not involve changing rods at my front gate!
The kit fits all D3s and D4s and RRS so far and as LR changed the CAN-bus system on 2010 models, there's a good chance that it will suit new models for at least a couple of years. I expect it would work on FFRR that use Terrain Response except that I know the ecu connectors use a slightly different shell even though the pin-outs are compatible, so the loom most likely wont be suitable. Whilst my controller does not access any CAN-bus, the position of the bus wires in the connectors has changed over the years and my loom caters for all versions so far.
Somewhere has to be found to mount the switch as the kit does not include a switch mounting bracket. A possible spot in the D3 is the small blank panel behind the park brake switch but I don't know where it might be mounted in a RRS. My D4 mounitng spot works well for me and the switch can be removed later without leaving any trace of it having been there. A possible place for all 3 vehicles is in the cover beneath the steering wheel although on the D4 at least, some honeycomb at the back would need to be gouged-out to allow the switch to be mounted flush with the front.
They will have a recommended retail price (RRP) of $594 in Oz which includes our domestic 10% GST, thus $540 (GST free) to o/s purchasers, excluding postage. BD has said he could handle export sales (he has a web-site)but maybe I'll look after those myself. When I have some kits ready I will weigh one to get an idea of the postage. I don't currently envisage having distributors in other countries. If I cannot convince BD to advertise on this site then I will so that people can see from where to obtain them. Posting this info may contravene site rules.

Graeme, you're getting close to contravening the Commercial Posting Rules, suggest you contact Martin to discuss. You may wish to discuss him selling them through the site shop The End

Hi Slimmer,
I will send Martin another email as I think my original must have been overlooked. By the end of next week I know whether the distributor or I will become an advertiser.

Hi Rich,
As long as the looms are OK, BD could have some Thursday but more likely Friday. He would like to have some at the LROC expo at Castle Hill on Sunday.
Keep the suspension where you want it...

I am travelling OS for the next few months (work not pleasure) but I would like to ensure I can order the kit asap. There is nothing on the BD website yet. These will sell like hot cakes, I think the forum members will buy them all before the pubic even know that they exist.
