EAS Air Compressor Exhaust Valve Problem

I got the suspension fault normal height only on my 2005 HSE the other day. Upon further inspection with a fault code reader I saw that "Pressure Increases too Slow while filling reservoir"

Assuming a compressor service was in order, I removed the unit (which was a lot simpler than I have read! took about 30 mins) and gave it a good scrub down before starting to dismantle it.

I had hoped it was simply the dryer that was the issue, but when I opened it I could see that the granules were although quite yellow, not wet or sticky or stuck together at all. I removed them anyway, sieved out the white powdery stuff, cleaned the filter pads and cooked the silica granules in the oven for 2 hours for good measure before putting the dryer back together

I proceeded to the exhaust valve nut (17mm) which started coming off really easily but then suddenly went very stiff. I screwed it back in again, then out again hoping that might free it up, but it did not - VERY STIFF! When I had got the nut out I saw that the threads of the nut towards the bottom had become stuck in the threads of the block and destroyed the nut threads for probably a third of the way from the tip to the end of the tip. The block doesnt seem to be damaged, but it does have the nut threads now stuck in its threads which I cant get out.

Does anyone have any clever ideas to get the hole threadable again? I really dont want to have to buy a new pump just for this one "small" issue!

Spray with Q20 or WD40. leave overnight, and then try and pry out the pieces of broken thread with a small sharp screwdriver? I wouldn't think that they are bonded very well in there, should come out easily once they have soaked overnight. Hope you come right
