D4 Exhaust Clamp Availability or part number. |
|
Hi I have a D4 2011, the exhaust pipe has started to split at a welded joint on the pipe running to the rear box, drivers side.
For the moment I have clamped the two bits of pipe together.
Having a look at a 61 plated cars exhaust, ( I asked the owner first! ) there is a factory fitted clamp over the connection of the two pipes, obviously there is an issue which Land Rover has tried to rectify.
Has anyone got a part number or price / availability of this clamp to retrofit onto my car?

Is the car still under warranty? If not a may be worth enquiring about a warranty claim anyway as it would appear that there are a few people that have had the back box fall off. Mine is a MY2012 and the back box fell off and I took it into Team Valley Land Rover and they knew exactly where it had broken off without looking at the car! They were just going to fit a new back box but Land Rover instructed them to fit a whole new system Cheers Ian

Just been quoted £390.00 + VAT from Team Valley to replace the pipe as per LR technical sheet!!
Usually they are very good but even to get a price for the clamp for self fitment was £90.00 + Vat!
I believe they are available for about £30.00, what are they playing at?

Would have thought Land Rover would do an abnormal warranty claim if they are admitting there is a problem Cheers Ian

Bit of a thread revival here, but I have this same issue of the weld having cracked around the right hand rear box on my 2012MY SDV6. From what I can tell, the TSB only covers the TDV6, but my 61 plate car looks to be within the VIN range if that makes sense.
I have sent a note to my supplying dealing to ask for details/confirmations.
If it is not covered, is simply welding it on an option?
