My brother in laws car has just failed its mot on corroded rear metal brake pipe, the car is a 2012 D4 coming up to four years old, anyone else have this problem at this sort of age, mine goes in on Thursday and was registered on the same day and came from the same selling garage, you would have thought in this day and age with longer lasting alternatives on a premium car this should not be a problem, hopefully not on mine!

I had a note on mine they are corroded and will need replacement sometime soon when I had a service a couple of weeks ago
MOT in Feb so will get them done just before
Common fault - susceptible to chip damage etc. and made from mild steel - I'm getting copper on mine next
Mines a couple of years older than yours though - you drive through a salty environment much?

Pretty poor show , copper pipe is not exactly expensive! Just been having that debate at work on a friends AMG merc which failed the MOT on brake pipes , but it's over 12 yrs old !
