The curse of SWMBO strikes again
SWMBO continues her campaign to rid the streets of London of other vehicles, this time by getting rear ended by an uber driver in a Toyota Prius. Total tally to date being, one Jaguar X Type, one Volvo S40, one Ford S Max, one Mercedes B class, one Porsche 997, one Peugeot 307 and yesterday's Prius - admittedly mostly not her fault.
He then lost the plot, lay on the floor and alleged that she had run him over and called the police. He was last seen being loaded into an ambulance on a stretcher. No wonder our taxes are so high. The police then spent 3 hours taking statements. I made the observation that if he had been run over by a D3 he wouldn't look so round. I think they took it on board.
SWMBO is in shock and the only thing that registered is her total astonishment that the front of a Prius is made of plastic and thus looks like its been hit by a wrecking ball. D3 unscratched obviously. "I can't believe it! Who makes a car out of plastic? I thought all car were made of metal!"VIN: A175A328***

Remember the rule, no pics = didn't happen. So London would be a safer place for other cars as long as neither of you have a camera on you.

Just be honest with your insurance firm and state categorically that in your opinion, the guy is attempting an insurance fraud regarding any injuries.
I hate it when people try to score on a personal injury front. Lowest of the low, closely followed by the low life no win, no fee scum Solicitors whom should have problems sleeping at night if there was any justice.

I assume he alleges that he rear ended your swmbo and then she ran him over ? Surely a doctors report to the fact that he's actually still alive and not flat will disprove that some

At what point does perverting the course of justice and interfering with the scene of an accident come into play here?

Serves him right, Uber drivers scourge of London . Probably not insured himself!!
Black Cab drivers learn the knowledge, pass through lots of hoops to keep the authorities happy, have their cabs gone over with a fine tooth comb every year. Just to be undercut by a £ or 2 by someone with a sat nav.
Could only happen in Britain Discovery 4 HSE

Not just in Britain Dusty, traditional cab services all over the western world are being threatened by Uber, the problem is is they are doing nothing wrong, every challenge in the courts have found the are not breaking the law.==================================

So Black Cab or S Class Mercedes not a hard choice really
Yes to a degree a Black cab knows the rat runs (in their area) but ever tried working on a tablet laptop in a rattle bus cab
Both have their places and lets face it competition is good

^^^ Agreed.
It's about time archaic taxi services moved with the times and made use of the smartphone and GPS technologies available to them. Uber is a very well executed service. I used it in LA recently and I thought the user experience was outstanding. You request a cab on your phone, you can see the cab on the map (relative to where you are), you can see how long the driver will be getting to you, you can see the driver's details and the car he is driving. No money ever changes hands at the end of the ride because it's all automated through a payment system that you've already set-up. The system itself is so much better than rattling around in a black cab and scrabbling around for some change to pay him/her with.
The drivers they employ, however, I cannot vouch for.
Of course they are doing nothing wrong. They have come in and are having a disruptive influence on the traditional cabbie market. As said, competition is a very good thing here.
I have my doubts as to whether or not the majority of Uber drivers have the necessary insurance to carry out their duties as a taxi driver but that's another matter.
