People always say competition is good when it doesn't directly effect their standard of living.
Competition is only fair when you have a level playing field, and the playing field between Black Cabs and Uber is so uneven it's scary. Just ask my mate who's car was hit by a by an Uber Taxi, the Taxi was insured, to pass APR checks and the like, but insured to carry fee paying customers, NO CHANCE. Insurance company didn't want to know, leaving my mate to foot the bill!!
I should add I never get a cab anywhere, so have no cross to bare. I either drive or use the tube. But a proper regulated Taxi service in the capital respected around the world, yes please even if it costs me a pound more.Discovery 4 HSE

And what are you supposed to get after 10pm when most of the black cab drivers have gone home? Don't get me wrong, I'm all in favour of the regulated black cab system in London, but there is a gap in the market, and someone spotted it.There are two rules for success,
1. Never tell everything you know.

@ Dusty urban myth i'm afraid you raise a claim with the MiB (no DG not the silly suited people) takes a little longer but you are covered.
Running a large fleet in Greater London I'm well versed in Claims F or NF

Exactly the point, all that faffing around because they aren't regulated properly. He, like I would have done paid to put his own car back together because he couldn't be bothered with all the hassle.Discovery 4 HSE

It's a form not that hard really
Totally agree that they should be insured correctly i've never taken an Uber less than a E-class they all appear to be well controlled I'd be more worried about our uninsured eastern european friends now that is whole new can of worms

The police will have to investigate a claim of bodily harm until they are satisfied it's false, I would've thought.23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green

Anyone can make a complaint and it will have to be investigated, you'd expect no less if it were you.
If the other party is claiming he is injured, the Plod will have to put an accident report in, hence why they want more details. Don't worry or give it a second thourght, don't mean it going anywhere or they believe him over you.
