No Parking on the Grass

Local football pitch, parents always park on the grass Evil or Very Mad , add a bit of rain and the whole path area turns to a bog, so all the local residents (The parents all drive and not local) have to put up with trying to cross the bog when dog walking or getting to local shops

Anyway, the council have helped by putting up a brand new sign Thumbs Up

Happens in my neighbourhood
X2 large private schools - parents park all over verges (that we try and maintain) so little Tarquin doesn't have to walk more than 3 yards
Council have put wooden stakes in on one road outside a park to protect that verge but locals are now putting large rocks on the other verges to protect them

The folk that do it are utter selfish F*ckers - and sadly a lot drive Disco's / RRS and FFRR's - giving further credence to the negative image

Many years ago I was the joint director of an exchange scheme for undergraduates from a Teacher training dept in UK with a sister one in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Being adjacent to Harvard, and being a female only 'school', you can imagine the type of background of the students.
One of the very first things my co-ordinating staff had to do was to induct these young ladies into the False Friends in the British version of English.
Many were the giggles when they were warned that 10 and 11 y o boys would often ask then for a 'rubber' during their teaching sessions.
They were also warned about the entirely different meaning of ''fanny''.
The signs everywhere of ''Keep off the Grass Max Fine £10.'' were also not to be taken as some sort of gentle Public Health notice.
Innocent days.

AAA Very Happy Very Happy

''We'' had very much the same occurence, with parents driving off at max revs and leaving great grooves in the places they'd park that afternoon to fetch young Tarquin.
The Council put in hedgelings to try to curtail the vandalism.
No chance - flattened within hours.
So wooden stakes and white painted rocks had to be the order of the day - until the school went bust halfway thru' a term that Tarquin's parents had paid for in full.
Poetic justice??... Rolling with laughter
