Loss of gears after autostart

Hi

I've got an MY16 Graphite and all is going well. I did have one issue recently though, and was wondering if anyone else has had this or has any advice.

I started the car after visiting a shop. I pulled up to the car park exit and had to stop to wait for a gap in the traffic. During this time the engine automatically stopped. I pressed the ECO button as I hate the stop/start, and the engine started up. A gap appeared and I pulled out. I got half way out and lost all drive. Engine was running and revved when I pressed the accelerator, but no drive. The car was in D but I couldn't change the gear selection using the rotary gear selector.

I switched the engine off and on again, and away I went.

I have read the error log using the BT IID tool but nothing showing.

Any ideas?

Cheers

PD

Known issue after eco stop, requires transmission control module re-flash, there is a TSB for it.

Ahhh... I described a similar issue here:

I've had a couple of weird occasions where turning the ECO off (to keep the engine running) just as it decides to stop, confuses the system into turning off the engine completely. What's totally embarrassing is you don't realise this until you try to pull away... nothing. And then you can't start the car until you drop into park and put your foot on the brake. Makes you look like a serious numpty as everyone has to wait !!!

I was told it was a 1st world problem and of course the newer models were better !!!

I might check with the dealer after hearing this - anyone know what the TSB number is? Thumbs Up

The original issue I reported, the car stuck in D or S, still happens now and then. It has been in to the dealer twice but as the issue isn't happening at that time and there are no fault codes, they can't find anything. Next step is to video the issue as it is happening.

Anyone else have a gearbox occasionally stuck in D or S?

I've had this problem with the gearbox several times, so I took it back to the dealer's last week. They couldn't replicate the problem but did say that there was a software update available for exactly this problem. They have applied it and asked me to see if it happens again.

On getting home, I have looked at the outputs of the IID Tool as below for the TCM:

Does anyone have any info on the versions displayed and that there is another update seemingly available?

Thanks
