I just finished with Sky, never watched it much anyway. so was just toting up my monthly outgoings. I pay out about £120 per month in outgoings, you know life insurance, electric, phone, broadband. Everything elce I pay once a year, like Council Tax, Car Tax, Car Insurance etc.
Just curious, I think I've got it quite low.
My Sky bill alone was £120 per month until a couple of months ago!!

Is that for the telephone and broadband too?
I'd been swithering for a few years to drop Sky. I haven't got the time nor inclination to watch it with any gusto and when you tot it up, it's a lot of money being spent unnecessarily IMHO.
When I cancelled, they tried to get me to take a basic package at about £13 per month, but when I said no, they said that was the lowest they could get it down to and just accepted I was going thankfully, I couldn't be bothered with an in depth conversation justifying why I wish to leave. My last day with them is 26th August.

It was, yes. Fibre broadband and line rental alone was around £40 then had the full tv package on top of that.
Recently cancelled sport/movies etc so it's now about £50 which is still too much but it's heading in the right direction...

This is an interesting thread. I've always wondered what the average earning power of a D3/4 owner was. Spending £144K a year on outgoings means we have some serious earners on here. I thought I was on a good wicket, but clearly not.
My SKY and Telephone/Broadband is about £140 a month.
Just changed energy supplier from Utility warehouse to Scottish Power after comparing on the Uswitch site. Went from £1200 a year to £800 a year. 4 bed detached house most of it is 100 years old so leaks a bit of heat but we do have a 12kw woodburner so will be firing that up a bit more and look to make further savings. Now to look at the Sky package
Only me and SWIMBO and both on fixed income.

I've been with a few electricity suppliers, always chopping and changing. I am £70 per month for about 10,000kw per year.
